Swears and Curses
It's not exactly comforting to see that the more things change, the worse they get in American politics, or the Senate, at least. This is a poor example to set of the kind of behavior the new President can expect from the legislature. This is not "the change we need."

Actually, and speaking as a former resident of Illinois, I believe the Senate acted correctly in denying Burris the seat. The fact that Blagojevich screened out some potential candidates - because they refused to bribe him - taints the appointment, regardless of whether Burris offered a bribe or not.
