Snow Day
If I remember, This is what cost Mayor Lindsay his job. I’ve seen enough on Facebook and elsewhere to know this was a truly epic storm, so I’d cut the guy some slack, but this isn’t going to help.

Oh, fuss, fuss, fuss. It's all weather hype. Dopes who drive when trumpeted "major storm" are forecast are usually asking for trouble and giving it to everyone else when they get stuck an block up everybody else. Everybody knew a "major coastal storm" was in the forecast and, in fact, there was actually somewhat less of it than the NYC pix would lead one to believe. Of course, if NYC gets a ton of snow, it will not be able to keep up with it so DON'T DRIVE YOUR CAR IN IT. If you must get somewhere take public transit. In NYC this is not that difficult. Meanwhile, because of the storm warnings most of the east coast airports were shut down more for precaution than because of too much snow. The wise, if inconvenient thing to do. CLA's flight out to St. L for 12/26 was cancelled because she was routed through Baltimore where, on 12/28, we landed and saw not one fleck of snow in the airport. On the other hand, when we landed in Raleigh, there was a good 3-4 inches piled up on our parked car. Of course, by that time, it was a sunny day and we just brushed the stuff off and went merrily on our way. CLA, on the other hand couldn't get a flight until 12/29.
