Public Art
I almost want to live in this building. Dupain’s photos are often truly amazing, right up there with the works of Bresson et al., and Australia, especially Sydney, hangs on to their imagery as quintessentially iconic. Etching one of them into a building may seem to be going a little far to some, but I think the whimsy, as much as the iconographic element, is one of the more worthy architectural efforts I’ve seen. I suppose, if I'm going to quibble, I'd wonder why this isn't out at Bondi itself, rather than over by Darling Harbour, but maybe Bondi's seen enough development for now.
