What I love about the Labor party in its role of opposition is it’s always delightful tendency towards one-upmanship. Not content with Howard’s incremental approach to the removal of civil liberties, Kim Beazley is proposing vast new police powers, near martial-law levels of detention and investigation. (Maybe we really should pay attention to Mark Latham’s criticisms, before there’s no difference at all between the parties.)
