Back in high school we learned Cruelty to Animals. I mean sophomore biology. It involved dissecting “lower order” creatures. There were always those who rejected participation, but now it’s no longer necessary to object: the frog is online and interactive. Honestly, I never learned anything from the exercise I couldn’t have gotten from a lecture and diagrams, so what was the point? Meanwhile, for those of us who are most thoroughly enlightened – or just Hindu – Edward Doughney has invented the spider ladder, a device that let’s the bug do the rescue work for itself.
