Compromise?
Who wants a compromise on the Patriot Act? It’s one of the worst pieces of legislation ever enacted, developed and put in place by Ashcroft to entrench intrusive police-state powers in the Federal Government, exploiting a moment of fear for a power-grab. I suppose I’ll settle for an extension – nothing permanent, mind you – but I’d rather see the whole thing expire according to its original sunset provisions.
