Homework
The leading U.S.-bashing news analysis publication and one of the top oil companies have banded together for the fourth time to offer $20,000 in prizes for an essay on the topic: “Do We Need Nature?”. I wonder if the question isn’t “Does Nature Need Us?” but I’m considering picking up where I left off twenty years ago and submitting a liberal cri de coeur. 2,000 words is too long for ‘blogging. But with the kind of dough they’re handing out, I imagine there will be a lot of competition. I’d like to see some of the more toadying submissions: Dominion Over the Animals! Is there Oil on Mars? Maybe I should submit one of those.
