What is it about globalization that leads to overreaction? I suppose, given M. Bove’s level of support, the police might have had an expectation of resistance, possibly involving a number of supporters, but he’d said he wouldn’t resist, so why 80 men? I guess the dog was there because the cops had one and wanted to get the use of him, but it reminds me of a scene in one of the Martin Beck stories, although in that one, at least there was the satisfaction of the dog biting the police commissioner.
