I don’t for a minute believe that the matter disclosed to the public by Herald Sun reporters now being prosecuted for protecting their sources are in any way entitled to government secrecy. Matters of national security have such protections, sure, but not paying benefits to widows & veterans? That’s just sleazy, and so’s trying to pretend the public would be informed in the fullness of time and prosecuting reporters who caught you out.
