Willing
If Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi wins his early election, it will be touted as a triumph for the “coalition of the willing” co-conspiritors, but there is plenty more at issue here than that, especially since Japan is already planning their withdrawal, especially the life savings of many of his citizens, which, like Bush with Social Security in the U.S., Koizumi is intent on putting into the stock market. I expect him to get through, but while there may be some basis for calling this a vote-of-confidence on government-sponsored pension reform, this isn’t a referendum on Iraq.
