Just in case Australians didn’t already feel their participation in the war on Iraq cost them enough in security, the US is billing them for the bombs, too. Also the chow and the phone calls. All on the principle “user pays.” I’m sure John Howard will make good on the bills, but if I were Simon Crean, I’d be playing this one big. Except he’s not in favor of a republic any more than Howard is, so I don’t really expect this to go anywhere at all.
