Lets the Sunshine in
I used to think good beer tasted bad. The way Heineken tasted, that is. But then I learned that exposure to light could make beer go “off” and that it would smell and taste skunky. Why does this happen? Because of clear or green glass bottles. Heineken in kegs doesn’t taste the way it often does in bottles. As a result, I don’t buy beer in anything but brown glass, and I’m pretty much off Heineken even on tap. Not that I was going to be of much help in their push to double their Australian sales anyway. There’s enough local product of superior flavor to begin with to keep me happy.
