Preservation & Restoration
Nobody knows for sure exactly what the Amber Room looked like, but a replica has been finished after 25 years. I remember seeing the work underway at the American Museum of Natural History a few years ago with WCA, and they even had a couple of panels on display and some furnishings. Whatever happened to the original, whether burned, bombed, or deposited at the bottom of the sea in a submarine for eternal safekeeping, may never be known, but I’d be satisfied seeing the new one if they’ll tour it through here.
