Since when are ‘bloggers Charles Dickens? Apparently since somebody named Kate Lee started signing them to book contracts. Sure, some of them are actual writers, but Bridget Jones’ Diary at least had a plot. Most ‘blogs are just opinion. The most telling part of Ms. Lee’s talent search: she’s sourcing graduates of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, i.e., people with talent and training and the ambition to be writers in the first place. Publishing. Go figure.
