Human Resources & the Future of Work
The battle between Oracle and PeopleSoft, one in which I have an interest due to my occupation, is set to be resolved over the next two weeks. Will Larry Ellison prevail over his one-time protégé, Craig Conway, or will the Justice Department deliver the verdict for the Pleasanton, California, takeover target? Did I do a good thing, helping steer my present client/employer away from the big 3 (the other being SAP)? There's something in Oracle's claim that Microsoft is the elephant no one's talking about, but Bill Gates doesn't actually have a product in this market (yet). Vaporware probably won't hold up in court, so I'm putting my money on PeopleSoft.
