SOI
The Southern Oscillation Index, or the measure of the El Niño effect, has been going up, point-by-point, over the last few days, anyway, and last night we saw some of the rain that trend has been promising. So much rain, in fact, that it even zapped our television reception for about fifteen minutes, although that may have had something to do with all the electrons flying around. Passing the overflow control on the Parramatta River this morning, I could see that there must have been a heavy fall out west, too, but how much good this does for the cachements remains to be seen. I expect the ABC will have a report.
